Nakornthon Hospital was officially launched on November 10th, 1996. Founded by a group of persons who share the same vision to establish a hospital with high standard of medical and health care services in the southern part of the outer Metropolitan area and its surrounding zones, follows the studies of the urban development and population growth in Bangkok's Western zone Thonburi which clearly indicate continuing urban expansion. Nakornthon Hospital was consequently established to support and serve the medical and healthcare need of the people in this fast developing zone.The hospital's 12-storied building has the capacity to accommodate 500 beds, although it presently has 250 beds as many square-footage has been converted to specialty clinics and centers to adapt to the social trend of preventive care.

The building was designed with a focus on patient-care and therefore the special units such as the operating rooms, delivery rooms, ICU rooms, and hemodialysis rooms are located on th'e same floor to provide prompt service to the patients. Installed with emergency ventilation and fire exits, the hospital adheres to the high standard of safety. The building is connected to a car park building and it also has a helipad for emergency patients.

Nakornthon Hospital provides medical services in all disciplinary and many sub-disciplinary such as Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obsterics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Eye Ear, Nose, and Throat (EENT). Specialized medical services such as Orthopedic Center, Aesthetics Center (Plastic Surgery, Laser & Skin), Health Check-Up Center, Dental Center, Mother and Child Center, Diabetes Center, Heart Center, and Medical Spa.

Nakornthon Hospital has been awarded several certificates of standards such as the ISO 9002 in 2001, which was adapted ISO 9001:2000 in 2003; the laboratory standard system certificate from the Department of Medical Sciences, Public Health Ministry and from Mahidol University in 2005. Nakornthon Hospital has resently been accredited by The Healthcare Accreditation Institule (Public Organization). For the past fourteen years Nakornthon Hospital has regularly provided free services as social contribution by sending mobile medical and first aid team into the communities without access to medical services. The hospital also arranges life-saving and first-aid training programs to the government agencies and private sectors without charge and sent medical teams to help disaster victims in and outside of the zone. The hospital members participate in important traditional activities and celebrations in the local community to contribute to the preservation of the Thai tradition way of life.
