Corrective Laser Eye Surgery
If you wear glasses or contact lenses, imagine what it would
be like to wake each morning and see clearly throughout the day
without the hassle of glasses or uncomfortable contacts. Lasik surgery
has become one of the world's most frequently requested elective
surgeries and we at ThaiMed want to bring our expertise to you.
Whether you suffer from nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism,
Lasik surgery is a wonderfully easy alternative to glasses or contact
lenses. One of the previous drawbacks to this procedure was its
inability to correct night vision problems, including glare sensitivity
and halos.
ThaiMed's ophthalmologist performs an exciting new procedure called
Custom Cornea® within the FDA approved LADAR Vision® System
that can, in most cases, correct ALL of these vision problems. Custom Cornea
is the first laser vision correction procedure that conventionally
reshapes your cornea based on your eyeglass/contacts prescription.
It is completely customized to your eyes.
About Lasik Surgery
The eyes are anesthetized with special drops. Cool pulses of ultraviolet
light are then administered to cleanly, precisely, and smoothly
sculpt the eye's inner surface. The procedure typically takes between
five and fifteen minutes for both eyes. Corneal tissue has extraordinary
natural bonding qualities so no stitches are needed.
Am I A Candidate For Lasik Surgery?
If this is a procedure you've been considering, our ophthalmologist
will perform a thorough, comprehensive vision exam to confirm that
you are an optimal candidate. Candidacy considerations include:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be in good general health
- Have no health issues affecting
your eyes
- Have no active eye conditions
which may affect healing
- Have a stable vision prescription for at least
one year
NV LASIK
NV LASIK is the newest form of LASIK treatment for people with presbyopia (age-related near vision problems). It is a permanent treatment used to decrease a person’s dependence on glasses. Unlike typical LASIK surgery, only one eye is treated. This eye is given a small amount of near-sightedness for reading and near work. This allows the recipient to live a normal life without needing to carry a pair of glasses everywhere they go for such simple tasks.
